Stunting condition describes a problem due to chronic lack of nutritional intake during the period of growth and development since early age, resulting in shorter body stature compared to children of their age. The prevalence of stunting in North Sulawesi Province in 2018 was 25.5%, and the national figure was 30.8%. The stunting rate in North Sulawesi has not yet reached the WHO recommended level, which is 20%. According to the data of the Kotamobagu City Health Office, there were 208 cases of stunting in Kotamobagu in 2020. The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between socio-economic factors with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-59 months in Kotamobagu City. The study applied analytic observational study using case control approach. The research population was all children aged 6-59 months in Kotamobagu City, with 7604 children. The sample size for each case group were 49 children and the control group was 98 children. Therefore the overall sample size was 147 children. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Data analysis was carried out using chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal education level (p=0.030; OR=2.296) and family opinion (p=0.044;OR=2.602) with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-59 months in Kotamobagu City. It is recommended that parents to increase their knowledge regarding the fulfillment of children's nutritional intake in terms of stunting prevention efforts and the use of local food in the fulfillment of nutritional intake for the family. © 2022 MPPKI.
