The aim of this research is to deepen and reveal the metaphorical structure in fauna texts. This research contributes to language development by forming a generation skilled in metaphorical diction across various contexts and broadens language students' insight into fauna while increasing their love for it. The main theories are Jensen et al (2021); Qiu et al (2022); Tampubolon & Sidabutar (2025); Liu, Li, & Feng (2025); Basarati & Kazemian (2026). The method used is content analysis. The research was conducted over 10 months with Indonesian Language and Literature Education students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data were analyzed using Lakoff & Johnson's (1980) theory, consisting of topic, vehicle, and ground. The results of the study showed the existence of 20 categories of two-word metaphors, 8 categories of three-word metaphors, and 15 categories of five-word metaphors. The metaphorical structure is dominant for the two-word category than for the others. © 2026, Slovenska Vzdelavacia Obstaravacia. All rights reserved.
