Abstract

The fact that mobile application popularity has grown exponentially and has become a significant part of modern life, impacts to increasing demand for mobile programmers. Recently, developers mostly use Flutter, a cross-platform mobile development framework created by Google, to develop both Android and iOS applications in a single codebase. This study introduces the concept of Flutter Programming Learning Assistance System (FPLAS) with the implementation of SQLite Integration self-learning topic. FPLAS applies test-driven development method to provide a self-learning system for students studying Flutter programming independently. It provides a feature of automatic Dart code verification that can generate failed messages and code correction assistance. Based on assignments, the SQL Integration topic uses a Flutter application, namely MyContactList, as the case study to provide contact data management and the fundamental CRUD operations. Furthermore, the learning topic offers eight learning objectives if students can solve all assignments in four tasks. When the subject was applied to 40 students in an Indonesian IT department to gauge its effectiveness, every student finished the assignments correctly and with praise due to the automated assistance feature. © 2023 IEEE.
