Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted English Language Teaching (ELT) programs to adopt hybrid and remote learning models. This chapter discusses the challenges and opportunities of these models, including technology availability, material selection, and professional development. It also discusses innovations in ELT, such as Learning Management Systems, video-conferencing, and AI, and their impact on teacher preparation. The chapter also discusses the preparation of teacher candidates for hybrid and remote teaching, focusing on developing digital literacy and evaluating readiness.
