Abstract

Technology capabilities, relevant learning objectives, and how technology motivates students are misaligned. This necessitates a more integrated, flexible, and relevant approach to students' needs and situations. This research investigates how technological literacy affects language learners' extrinsic motivation. 102 students participated in the quantitative descriptive study. Extrinsic motivation is high for 72.5% of technology literacy. Awards, recognition, and practical results motivate most students to use technology instruction to improve their Indonesian language skills. They were more excited by interactive learning resources (61.8%, Purple). After employing language learning technologies, students felt confident explaining topics. This suggests that technological literacy increases extrinsic language learning motivation, especially in digital education. Online platforms, apps, and interactive software make language learning more fun. © 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.
