This chapter examines effective strategies for promoting literacy in multilingual classrooms, where diverse linguistic backgrounds are increasingly prevalent. It looks at how translanguaging, dynamic bilingualism, and sociocultural theory can help students use their language skills to improve their reading and writing. The chapter talks about how to deal with problems like language gaps, different levels of fluency, and unfair tests. It also talks about how to turn linguistic diversity into an asset by using evidence-based practices. To help students learn language in a meaningful way, the article talks about practical ways to teach reading and writing, build academic literacy, and use fair assessment methods. This chapter seeks to direct educators towards more inclusive, effective, and equitable literacy instruction in multilingual contexts by advocating for the incorporation of students' home languages and highlighting the importance of authentic, formative assessment.
