The empowered community is a strong capital in developing the national economy; the government, as the manager of the State, should maximize the village-owned enterprises (called Bumdes), especially the farming community in the villages. This paper aims to find out the role of the Bumdes in empowering the farming community. The results showed that the role of Bumdes was not good enough and had a direct influence on the weakness of community empowerment activities in the village. © 2020 SERSC.
