Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the transition from virtual classrooms to hands-on interactions in education. This chapter examines the role of virtual learning and its potential to revolutionize global education. Despite online classes, the digital gap became more apparent due to limited access to resources and inequalities in technology availability and internet connection. The chapter also explores the evolution of technology for pedagogy during the pandemic and its effects on education systems. It discusses policies that can help mitigate this gap and promote education equality. The chapter also discusses educational technology trends like artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and gamification, which are revolutionizing teaching methods and enhancing student motivation.
