The paper reports a study on communication strategy employed by a radio announcer. It employs descriptive qualitative approach exploring how the communication strategies applied by an Indonesia radio announcer especially in English program of Madama Radio in Makassar. The result of the study demonstrated that the radio announcer used beat to beat following the beat of the song was effective to attract listeners attention adding Dornyei's & Scott's taxonomies in communication strategy. © 2018 Asian EFL Journal Press.
