The chapter "Building Bridges: Implementing the TEAMS Model to Support Student Success" focuses on transforming transfer credit practices and policies within the TEAMS Model. The model aims to maximize institutional effectiveness while minimizing student suffering through a student-centred approach. The chapter defines the TEAMS Model and its core principles, including transparency in credit evaluation, empowerment through policies allowing students more freedom in their studies, attainability through reasonable administrative policies for credit transfer, mentorship for students transitioning from one academic level to another, and sustainability through permanent improvements in transfer credit policies. The chapter provides suggestions and best models for educational leaders to use the TEAMS Model effectively, focusing on cooperative, data-informed, and learner-centred strategies in credit transfer policies. This will facilitate better integration and assistance for transfer students into the education system. © 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.
