Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the basic education learning model with character-based through learning in the Universitas Muslim Indonesia. In addition, the research specifically examines the character of discipline, curiosity and responsibility. The specific target is to produce a basic education learning model characterbased. This type of research is the development of Research and Development or R&D refers to a model developed by Plomp (1997), which includes five phases (1) Preliminary Investigation, (2) the design phase, (3) phases of realization/construction, (4) The test phase of evaluation and revision (5) implementation. Besides, the tools generated in this study consisted models books, lesson plans, student worksheets, and learning outcomes. The results of data analysis showed that the character-based learning with a behavioral approach meets the criteria for effectiveness. © 2016 Rosmiati et al.
