Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop interactive multimedia for beginner readers in the first-grade students of elementary school. This research was a research development, using the method of experimentation. One class as a class experiment got a treatment and one class as a control group. Data source this study was taken from a limited test and application of more extensive tests. The data were collected by using the techniques of observations, interviews, and tests. The data were analyzed using t-test analysis by applying IBM SPSS statistics 20 facilities. Based on the results of the calculations for the control class, the significance of the test results showed that p = .000 < 0, 05. That means that H0 is accepted. Therefore, there is no difference in learning outcomes of interactive multimedia for beginner readers on the first-grade students, Maros Regency. For experimental class, the significance of the test results (t-test), with a value is p = 015 > 0, 05. It means that Ho is rejected, and H1 is accepted. These results prove that there is a difference between learning outcomes using interactive multimedia and the class that does not use interactive multimedia. Therefore, interactive multimedia effectively improves student learning outcomes. © 2015 ACADEMY PUBLICATION.
