Abstract

This study examines Latina entrepreneurs' struggles in male-dominated fields. We had a 31% survey completion rate using pre-tested research instruments on minority-owned business center consultants and LMI women entrepreneurs, proving the targeted approach worked. Only a small percentage of Latina entrepreneurs actively seek information from students, with statistically significant knowledge exchange from external sources. The sample excluded the predominantly female- dominated services and retail sectors and included construction, manufacturing, business services, transportation, communication, and utilities. This study emphasizes the importance of smart negotiation, management, and strong support networks for Latina entrepreneurs. It also stresses the importance of targeted institutional support and networking to sustain their firms. Latina entrepreneurs can succeed in male-dominated fields by overcoming these obstacles and exploiting their abilities. © 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.
