Abstract

Land use changes is amodification process due to human activities on the environment of natural functions. The analysis of land use changes is carried out by using the R Mapper and Map Info Professional 8.5 and land use of 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010. The result showed that land development over time increased significantly from 1980 to 1990. This impacted the rate of population growth and thus increases anthropogenic activities, number of vehicles, and public facilities. This is coinciding with the increase of urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon in the Kemayoran and Pondok Betung stations in the City of Jakarta. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers, All rights Reserved.
