Abstract

This paper explores the students' perception on Mendeley Reference Management Software (MRMS) focusing particularly with academic honesty as the fundamental aspect in the form of encouraging the academic integrity and avoiding academic dishonesty. It reports a survey research using a survey monkey involving 100 respondents to obtain data on the students' responses on the use of MRMS (the default features of Mendeley) in academic writing. The research result demonstrates that the majority of the Indonesian students were in the level of easy and very easy to use the MRMS featuring Reference Manager; Read & Annotate; Add & Organize; Collaborate; Backup, Sync, & Mobile; and Network & Discover. However, some of the students still experienced somewhat difficult to use the item of flexible formatting, collaborate on bibliographies, share annotations with others, save and print annotations, intuitive navigation, team plans, all your ideas in real-time, build an online presence, and discover new collaborators. © 2015 IEEE.
