Abstract

This research is oriented towards presenting the incorporation of procedures, principles, and practices in developing a learning tool. Furthermore, the purpose of the design science research method (DSRM) The application of IoT-based learning media in the context of climate-smart agriculture results in the generation of artefacts, the form of learning media itself with six stages of processes that are carried out iteratively, including (1) Problem Identification and Motivation; (2) Define the Objectives for a Solution; (3) Design and Development; (4) Demonstration; (5) Evaluation; and, (6) Communication. Based on the application of the design science research method and testing carried out from the simulation results on 40 student respondents, the overall average score is 4.64. Subsequently, the results of these calculations are transformed into qualitative data in accordance with the established categorization guidelines. the assessment declared very practical and can be said to be effective in increasing the competence of students seen from the evaluation results in the case of a paired sample t-test, obtained a t-value of 41.938 in a sig worth (probability value) 0.001. The probability of this occurring is less than 0.05. In light of the findings of this examination, it can be stated that there is a significant difference in the test results between the experimental class and the control class on the post-test results. © 2026 Author(s).
