This scoping review systematically maps the landscape of empirical research on Global Englishes conducted by Indonesian scholars and published in SINTA (Science and Technology Index)-accredited journals (SINTA 1 & 2) between 2015 and 2024. SINTA is an Indonesian national database measuring the performance of scientific research, including Scopus and Web of Science. Following the PRISMA-ScR framework, the findings reveal that translanguaging is the most prominent sub-area, followed by World Englishes, English as a Lingua Franca, and English as an International Language. Geographically and contextually, studies have been heavily concentrated in Java and tertiary education, with significant gaps in primary education, non-academic domains, and the perspectives of policymakers. Methodologically, qualitative designs dominate, highlighting a need for greater methodological diversity. This review concludes by identifying critical gaps and proposing directions for future research to advance the decolonial potential of GE within Indonesia’s unique multilingual ecology. © 2026 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
