Abstract

Technological advancements have encouraged society to adapt and integrate digital innovations into everyday life. As a provider of health insurance services, BPJS Kesehatan has developed the Mobile Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) application to facilitate access to healthcare and improve service efficiency. This application allows users to register at healthcare facilities, manage online queues, access billing information, and conduct online consultations. Health students, as future healthcare professionals, play a strategic role in promoting and facilitating the utilization of the application. Therefore, their understanding and perception of this application are important to study. This study aims to examine the relationship between knowledge and perception of health students in using the Mobile JKN application. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional designed was conducted. Among 66 health students at Institut Batari Toja, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The result showed a p- value was 0.018 (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the perception of health students toward the use of the Mobile JKN application. Strengthening digital health literacy among future healthcare professionals is crucial to support the effective adoption of technology-based health service application. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2026.
