Abstract

This chapter examines the role of intelligent assessment systems in facilitating personalized learning and improving student engagement. It delineates the historical progression of assessment from standardized testing to adaptive, data-informed systems that cater to individual learning requirements. Essential elements like adaptive learning technology, data analytics, and personalized feedback are examined, highlighting their contributions to enhancing learning outcomes. The chapter analyzes implementation options, equity and access issues, and the ethical governance of student data. It underscores the significance of educator training and the role of emerging technologies such as AI, VR, and AR in influencing the future of individualized education. Case studies and research data illustrate how these tools can enhance motivation, autonomy, and academic performance.
