Narrative inquiry is a powerful tool for understanding the lived experiences of individuals in educational settings. It highlights the importance of language, literacy, and representation in shaping educational practices. Language is not just a tool for communication but a fundamental element in shaping educational experiences. Teachers' use of language can either empower or constrain students, and the narratives they create shape the learning environment and identities. Literacy extends beyond traditional texts and includes digital, visual, and social literacies. The chapter emphasizes the importance of centering the voices of underrepresented and marginalized groups in educational research. Narrative inquiry fosters critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper connection to the content being taught. Engaging with narratives encourages a more inclusive, participatory approach to pedagogy, where students are not passive recipients of knowledge but active contributors to the stories that shape their learning.
