Theory and practice often clash in university applied linguistics. This chapter evaluates case studies' ability to apply theoretical concepts in real-world schooling. The chapter shows how theoretical ideas might be applied to language teaching by studying two case studies: language evaluation in multilingual classrooms and technological integration in language education. The first case study shows how culturally responsive assessment can improve language acquisition for diverse pupils. The second case study shows how digital technologies may make language learning fun and participatory. Both case studies demonstrate how context-specific education and technology improve language learning. In conclusion, educators and policymakers should incorporate case studies into applied linguistics courses, emphasizing continual professional development and inclusive and flexible instruction. © 2025, IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
