Despite the increased interest in AI in education, few empirical studies have examined how responsible AI shapes educational value development and cognitive involvement. Therefore, this study aims to report the roles of responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping educational value formations and cognitive involvement. The study also noted the relationship between value formations/cognitive involvement, teaching performance, and learning outcome. Through a survey study, data from 547 students of Indonesian sports education and public health programs were gathered online. The partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was implemented for the primary data analysis. Results show that variations in effect sizes supported all hypotheses. The most substantial relationship emerges between responsible AI and instrumental value formation (β = 0.7770; t = 26.5200; p < .001). Meanwhile, the least significant relationship exists between cognitive involvement and learning outcome (β = 0.1330, t = 1.9760, p < .05). This study is essential to understand the role of responsible AI in teaching and learning in sports education and public health programs, especially in developing economies like Indonesia. © 2025 The Authors
